ENTERTAINMENT & ACTIVITIES

Monday evening, May 21st at 5:30 pm there will a welcome reception held at Jaded, which is located in the Goldbelt Hotel, our premiere accomodation right across the street from Centennial Hall.  There will be appetizers available as well as a no-host bar.

Tuesday evening there will be a meet and greet reception at the Buoy Deck, with music by Michelle Logan.

Wednesday evening feel free to join us for the Toughest Cop Competition and enjoy dinner on your own.  More details coming soon!

Thursday evening, May 24th, delegates will be transported from Centennial Hall to scenic Auke Bay, where they will board a comfortable water-powered Allen Marine Tours catamaran and be zipped off to the famous Orca Point Lodge on Colt Island for an amazing, mouthwatering salmon bake.

On the way to the lodge, you may have the chance to have some exceptional whale watching and photographic opportunities.  Don’t forget your camera, and be sure to bring a warm jacket to wear on the topside observation deck; the whales are often close enough to hear them breathe!  An onboard naturalist will explain the behavior and habitat of the humpback whale and any other wildlife you may encounter, including killer whales, sea lions, porpoise, harbor seals, bald eagles and more!  The best way to experience Southeast Alaska's majestic scenery, amazing wildlife, native history and frontier lifestyle is on the water.

Dinner at the lodge will include grilled wild Alaska salmon, chicken, corn on the cob, rice pilaf, cole slaw, fresh-hot rolls and desserts.  The lodge offers peaceful seclusion with modern comforts in a remote wilderness setting.  Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and take a stroll along the beach before the reboarding the catamaran for the return cruise to Auke Bay. After an evening of good food and great music by local musicians Kari Groven and the Wristrockets, the catamaran will return back to Statter Harbor at approximately 10:00 pm.

Please Note:
Bring a warm jacket to wear on deck and outdoors at Orca Point Lodge. Restrooms are available at all venues.  This tour is wheelchair accessible.
